It is sometimes difficult to get approval on a loan when you have bad credit. However, there are ways to improve your credit score so that you can get approved for a loan. Although it takes a bit of work, it can be accomplished quite rapidly with a couple of methods. One is known as debt snowballing your debt, the other is by challenging items on your report. It will take some effort on your part to get this done but both of these methods are very effective.
With the debt snowball method, start is getting a copy of your credit report. You will need to know exactly which things need to be fixed on your report. Once you have that information, make a list of your debts starting with your smallest ones first. Next you need to get a total of all of your monthly income. This includes any extra money you get such as union checks or money for side jobs. Now you need to make a total of all of your basic monthly expenses. Exclude anything that is not absolutely necessary like entertainment and car washes. You will need to live on bare essentials if you want to repair your credit score quickly. You can even temporarily reduce any retirement contributions to speed up the process. Determine how much extra money you have each month that you can apply to your debts. Beginning with the smallest debt, put all of your extra money towards paying off your debts every month beginning with the smallest debt. Continue doing this each month taking on the next highest bill. As you progress through your debts, add the money that you are saving from those which have paid off to your debt reduction pool. This will give you more funds to put towards the larger debts.
While you are paying your debts off, go over your credit report and look for any charge offs, mistakes, and other items that you go against your credit which cannot be repaired with payments. You will need to write to the three major credit reporting agencies and request that these items be removed from your credit report. They credit reporting agencies are required to forward your request to the creditor for review. The creditors then have to respond within a given period of time. If they do not, you can ask the credit reporting agencies to remove that item from your report. They will have no choice but to do so because the law requires that the creditor must prove that the information about the debt is accurate and they must do it within the required amount of time. You can have a lot of items removed by default using this method. This is one of the fastest ways to repair your credit score.
